Mint is a free web application that allows you manage all your finances in one place. All you have to do is sign up and create an account. Then add in all your bank and loan details. Mint will pull in all the data and you can see everything right there in the form of a comprehensive chat. It also alerts you of unusual transactions and suspicious activity so that you don’t have to worry about anything.
The best part about using this application is that no financial transactions can take place through it. It also doesn’t record your account number or account name. It is simply a place for linking your bank information to one place for a birds-eye view.
They have put up an interesting video on their site about the new visualization one trillion dollars this explainer video, is not really about Mint, but instead about financial changes in the U.S. economy. Here are some notable features of this video:
- Note that the Mint logo is mint-green in color with a combination of white background. Following suit they have used a mint-green and white gradient background for this video.
- Western background music has been used to make it catchy.
- The video is mostly based on typography and motion graphics that take up most preference in the video.
- 2D animation graphics have also been used to depict the different facts being mentioned.
The video is interesting to watch, but does have certain flaws. It is too fast with a lot of text going by before it can even be read. Secondly the voice-over is too fast at some places to actually bring emphasis anywhere at all. Lastly, it lasts any point of focus.
